The Yod Planetary
Configuration
(see example)
The Yod Planetary Configuration (the Finger of God)
This configuration has three planetary influences that are dissimilar
in element and mode. Considered a 12th harmonic pattern because of
the two QUINCUNXES or INCONJUNCTS (150 degrees) made by the apex or
focal planet of this acute isosceles triangle. The base of the triangle
is formed by a SEXTILE (60 degrees). (see example). A true yod consists
of the focal planet being the fastest moving of the three in the configuation.
This triangle, in sacred geometry, is defined as operating on the “soul” level
or the mental – emotional – astral plane. The two aspects
this configuration makes, the quincunx and the sextile, are not what
we call physical or action aspects but more of an expression of the
mental state and the unseen.
As the natal chart standing alone the YOD doesn’t really present
an on-going tension or friction. A person grows out of the natal chart
configuration through the progressed natal chart. The Yod’s presence
is only known when a transit or progressed planet triggers it. Nevertheless,
with this configuration, the individual may feel, at a deep level,
that they are on a quest for some understanding of a particular troublesome
area of their life.
Often the best way to integrate the YOD is to go to the OPPOSITE
of the focal planet and learn all you can about this. In our
example that
would be 12 degrees and 47 minutes of Libra in the 12th house.
If there is an opposition to the focal planet in the natal chart
then
this configuration
is considered a BOOMERANG.
The
key to the understanding of the quest would be the delination of
the house and sign as well as the SABIAN
SYMBOL for the
degree. When integration occurs there is a sincere understanding
of the cosmic
reality of the individual. The soul sings.
