and orbs: Note:
Most trine and sextile aspects are not interpreted
Our emphasis is not so much on eliminating undesirable traits or experiences as on bringing one into balance so that the positive expression of one's astrological signature can manifest. A person who is essentially inward and shy and who has trouble making his way in the world will not become a dynamic, flamboyant world-conqueror, but he can build confidence in reaching out to others. Rather than attempt to get rid of his shyness, the focus would be on discovering the positive gifts his gentleness may offer him and alleviating the more extreme, isolating aspects of his shy nature. Using these "vibrational" tools, issues that one may have struggled with for years can be eased, and long-buried talents and loves can be awakened. Many of the tools suggested herein, including astrology, work on what esotericists refer to as the energy bodies, the chakras, or the aura. This subtle energy field, which emanates from every living thing, is where our energetic and emotional habits, thought patterns, belief systems, and so on reside. Introducing the energy pattern of a flower, plant, gem, or mineral into one's aura directly affects one's emotional and mental energies, and over a period of time this promotes long-lasting changes. The key factor in using any of these remedies or tools is one's positive intentions, willingness, and desire for harmony and health. They are not "magic". Used consistently and with conscious intention, they reinforce and accelerate desired changes. In the back of this report is a listing of resources where you can obtain the flower essences and other products suggested for you. There are also other tips and instructions. As you read over your report you may see a number of areas that you would like to work with. There is a lot of information here and the possibilities can be very exciting! However, it is usually best to attend to one issue or cluster of related issues (a theme) at one time. Choose whichever one is most meaningful or troublesome to you at present. Keep in mind that you will NOT manifest all of the potential imbalances mentioned. Some issues may have already been resolved, and some will simply not be relevant. In deciding which issue to focus on, follow your intuition. Remember, too, that gentle, persistent effort is usually necessary in re-patterning and creating any real change. Best Wishes to You!
The position of the Sun in your birth chart represents the person you are at heart and the path you must follow to fulfill yourself as a unique individual. It also indicates your personal strength and vitality, as well as what activities or life experiences you require to feel alive and to replenish your life force. The Sun represents your personal identity. Sun in Libra: Key issues: Harmony, balance, justice, equality, relationship. Key qualities: graciousness, smoothness, a conciliatory spirit, ability to blend and harmonize opposing energies, idealistic. You more than most people cannot live as a self-contained, self-sufficient unit. You need friendship, companionship, beauty, romance, and the give and take of human relationships in order to feel fully alive. You appreciate balance and symmetry, and you are offended by ugliness, extremism, harshness, jagged edges, in art or in people. Confronting the unadorned truth about someone or something is difficult for you. You are idealistic in the sense that you believe life and relationships should be fair, equal, or at least agreeable to all concerned. Agreement, concord, and harmony mean so much to you that you are willing to compromise, adjust yourself, or tell other people what they want to hear whether it is strictly true or not. You can be disarmingly charming and sweet; you aim to please or at least not cause disruption. Inherently diplomatic and political (in the sense of knowing how to handle public relations, knowing what will work in your favor), you are an asset in any position that requires people skills, or bringing opposing viewpoints together. You are also at home in the pure, airy realm of abstract concepts and ideals. Ideas that have a certain grace or elegance appeal to you particularly. Patterns of Imbalance: For allowing others to dominate or unduly influence, being too easily persuaded, desiring too much to please: the flower essences CENTAURY, and MULLEIN. For avoiding one's pain or the unpleasantness of life, putting on a smile while suffering inside, "will do anything for peace": the flower essence AGRIMONY. For indecision, vacillating between two extremes: the flower essence SCLERANTHUS. For inability to be true to self due to social expectations, peer pressure, or others' influences: the flower essence GOLDENROD. For relying too much on external help especially in relationship to any healing process; the flower essence SELF-HEAL. Gemstones that may be beneficial for you to wear, carry, or take as an elixir are: WATERMELON TOURMALINE balances the male-female polarities within (the active-receptive, giving-receiving dynamic is balanced). It works primarily on lower abdomen, solar plexus, and heart chakras. Helps also with identifying who you are and who you are not in relation to others. HEMATITE promotes emotional independence rather than co-dependency; strengthens the emotional body. It is also a grounding stone. Sun Quincunx Jupiter: To feel your best you need openness and spaciousness, both psychologically and physically. What for someone else might feel compact, cozy, and secure may well feel cramped, stifling, and crushingly limited to you. This is important to recognize, whether you are choosing a place to live, making a career decision, or negotiating interpersonal relations. You need a view preferably one that is big and inspiring and not just out your window, but also for your life. Otherwise you will suffer from chronic restless dissatisfaction which ultimately will affect your health. You need to be on the stage of life in a big way, you need a sense of freedom. You feel best when you are doing something a little risky and open ended, something that has growth potential. However, grandiosity, lack of humility or discipline, inflated egotistical desires, or foolish overoptimism can bring you down. Health wise, excesses and overconsumption are your nemesis. Flower essences that will help you to bring out the better side of this pattern include: SAGE (for perceiving the higher purpose and meaning in life events), and SUNFLOWER (for balancing a distorted or grandiose sense of self). Your Ascendant (or Rising Sign) describes your physique, as well as indicating how you relate to and are affected by your environment. It has a direct bearing on your physical health. Ascendant in Aries: You have an active, energetic, rather masculine physique and you are at your best when you have a battle or challenge to pit yourself against. Your overall well-being depends upon your ability to take positive action in a direct, immediate way in order to pursue your goals or better your situation. If your hands are tied, if you must depend upon the cooperation or authority of others before you can proceed, or if there is no definite action to be taken, the resulting frustration and tension can be quite debilitating for you. You must in some way embody the qualities of a warrior (or a warrior goddess such as Artemis, goddess of the hunt): aggressiveness, the love of a good contest, and a willingness to fight for or defend what is precious without using force indiscriminately or against those who are weaker. If you see everything in your environment as an opponent, drive yourself too hard, or always need to be first, dominant, on top, or the winner, you are apt to be out of balance and to suffer accidents and injuries (particularly to the head). When ill or suffering a health crisis, slow down and be willing to get help, advice, and feed back from others (something you may be disinclined to do). Flower and garden essences that can help harmonize your energies include: IMPATIENS (for impatience, pushiness), TIGER LILY (to balance overly competitive "yang" forces), and VINE (for a tendency to be domineering). Asc. Opposition Sun: You feel that your body, your appearances, or the way you come across actually masks your true self. You may also have an inaccurate sense of your own importance, either over or underestimating your worth. Consider taking the flower essences SUNFLOWER or BUTTERCUP.
The position of the Moon in your birth chart reflects your emotional nature, what you need to feel nurtured, what feels familiar and comfortable to you. It is also your deeply-held beliefs and mostly unconscious or instinctive responses, which play themselves out in your closest personal relationships. Your moods, memories, dream life, and feeling-self are depicted by the moon in your birth chart. Moon in Aquarius: Key issues: Needs for freedom and experimentation while still maintaining close, nurturing relationships. Breaking from societal or familiar rules, conventions, and "shoulds" to express one's unique self. Key qualities: independent, unorthodox; unusual or unconventional affiliations. You may well seem peculiar to other people, particularly those who live with you or know you well. You have odd habits, tastes, and rhythms, and you do not really care if you are "normal" or not. At times, you are oddly detached. Even in intensely personal or emotional situations, you can stay cool and objective. This can put other people off, especially when they want and expect sympathy and understanding. You try to be extremely fair, unbiased, and unprejudiced. You will not take sides, and a friend or family member may well wish that just for once you would! Emotionally you are rather unpredictable. You change, you run hot and cold, you are passionate about one thing, then another. You like to experiment. What you do not like is to be smothered or dominate in any way, which is why you often keep an emotional distance. You crave freedom. You will revolt against tyranny of any sort, domestic or otherwise. You will also reject traditional gender roles or any tradition if it does not suit you; you do not want to be put into a box. At your finest, you are concerned about the welfare of all, not just yourself and your own immediate circle. You like to give people a chance. You feel for the underdog, and also for the larger "planetary family". You need a sense of community, kindred spirits, as much as you do a family. Patterns of Imbalances: When out of balance, you are simply cut off from your emotions and respond the way you think you should, rather than from your genuine feelings, your heart or your gut. You may feel numb, or simply be unaware of what you really do carry inside. Also, you may feel, deep down, that you are "different" and do not belong or fit in anywhere. Flower essences which may be helpful include: For feelings of alienation, not feeling part of the human race, not feeling at home on earth: the flower essence SHOOTING STAR. For valuing yourself and your unique contributions, regardless of how you differ from others; for feeling you are "ahead of your time": the flower essences COLUMBINE, MULLIEN, LACE FLOWER. For repression of or aversion to deep feelings and emotional expression; for contacting and gaining awareness of emotions: FUCHSIA, SCARLET MONKEY FLOWER, and BLACK-EYED SUSAN. CHAPARRAL is good for gaining insight into your emotions through your dreams, and this can be a very good avenue for you. Paying attention to your dreams is an effective way for you to attend to your feelings and inner self, as dreams by pass your very logical, thinking self. (You may want to read Gayle Delance's "Living You Dreams" to get you started. Avoid books that tell you in dictionary-style what a given dream means. It is your own emotional connections you are aiming for). For fear of sexual intimacy and the inability to express deep, warm love: the flower essence STICKY MONKEY FLOWER. Music which stimulates the heart and the seat of the soul is very helpful for opening your feelings. Recommended are instruments featuring strings, (violin and harp, especially. And, of course, any other music you find moving.) Gemstones to wear, carry, or take as an elixir include: CLEAR, HERKIMER, and RUTILATED QUARTZ. Moon Quincunx Venus: You are temperamentally predisposed to want a soft life, one that is filled with love and affection, beauty, pleasure, and comfort. You hunger for domestic and familial sweetness, happiness, and closeness. You may, in fact, be addicted to "sweets" from desserts to amours. Wanting to be pampered and babied, wanting one-sided support, or for the good things to be provided for you with no serious, sustained effort on your part may be your weakness. On the other hand, you may indulge others, be too lax and forgiving, adapt yourself too readily to others' wants and needs, be an overprotective parent to those you care for, be more concerned with others' happiness than your own, or sacrifice important personal values to avoid creating discomfort for others particularly family members. Flower essences that can ease some of these patterns include POMEGRANATE and MARIPOSA LILY (for the capacity to give and receive nurturing in a balanced way), and MILKY NIPPLE CACTUS and MILKWEED (for transforming dependencies into self nurturing autonomy). Moon Opposition Pluto: In your family, your most intimate, personal relationships, or your inner emotional and soul life, you carry deep compulsions or psychic wounds. Clearing away hidden traumas, the seeds of which may go back even to previous existences, is necessary. A history of family secrets, previous emotional separations, (along with guilt, shame, resentment, mistrust) or a deep fear of the feminine and/or of becoming a parent yourself may result. You are particularly sensitive to emotional separation which trigger old feelings of abandonment and loss. Thus you are susceptible to emotional blackmail and threats of abandonment from people you are close to. Flower remedies can be very supportive to you as you face and heal such issues, and energy work (Reiki, polarity, or similar therapies) on the base, sacral, and solar plexus chakras may be very helpful as well. For releasing old sorrow and grief, the flower essences: STURT DESERT PEA, BLEEDING HEART, and YERBA SANTA. For accepting and releasing powerful emotions, and integrating painful emotions: SCARLET MONKEY FLOWER, BLACK-EYED SUSAN, FIREWEED, and FUCHSIA. For resentment, bitterness, lack of forgiveness or hate toward self or others: MOUNTAIN WORMWOOD, WILLOW, HOLLY. For improper or insufficient nurturing and leftover painful memories of childhood: GOLDEN EAR DROPS, MARIPOSA LILY, POMEGRANATE, EVENING PRIMROSE. For feelings of shame, guilt, and fear of exposing your true self: PINK MONKEY FLOWER, FOOTHILLS PALOVERDE, CRABAPPLE. For fears of intimacy or sexuality: HIBISCUS and STICKY MONKEY FLOWER. For emotional traumas, shock, recovery from abuse: STAR OF BETHLEHEM, FRINGED VIOLET, COMFREY, BISBEE BEEHIVE CACTUS. For breaking the spell of an abusive situation or relationship: BLACK COHOSH and WINTERGREEN. For fear of the dark or negative woman (within or without): MALA MUJER. Please remember that long-standing or deeper issues will take time and patience to heal, and you may experience an intensification or upsurge of the very pattern you are trying to address once you begin to use any of these remedies. You can temporarily stop taking them or get support from a trusted person to help you work these feelings and issues through. Another healing activity for you in this regard would be to construct a personal ritual that includes the element of water to symbolize cleansing and purging yourself of the effects of the past. Using any of the above flower essences in a bath could be one of these. The color PURPLE and the aromatherapy essential oil of VIOLET (used as a perfume or in your living environment, or as part of a healing ritual) stimulates forgiveness, and thus can help in the completion of your resolving emotional hurts. Beware of the way you use power and control in your relationships, especially with your children if you have any, or others who may be dependent upon you. The position of Venus in your birth chart reveals your capacity for love, intimacy, pleasure, giving and receiving, and relationships. Representing, also, your taste in beauty and your values, it is a key to how you can create harmony within yourself. Venus in Virgo: Your tastes are understated, modest, simple, refined, perhaps very practical and unadorned. Both beauty and the desires of your heart are often put aside in favor of practical concerns. In love and friendship, you are quite devoted, and enjoy being useful to and serving the other person, but may not be very open to receiving or enjoying them. You are also rather proper, conservative, even prim about expressing or receiving affection (certainly in public if not in private), but you may show your affection in odd ways: fussing over, even criticizing your loved ones in hopes of helping them. You can be very hard to please. Being overly critical and rigid in your standards can lead to "female problems", either within the body or in your personal and social relations. Consider taking the following flower essences if you feel you are expressing the negative aspect of this pattern: BEECH (for criticism and intolerance of others), DOGWOOD (for more grace in relationship as well as in your own physical movement), and COLUMBINE (for greater appreciation of yourself; less criticism of oneself or one's appearances). Mercury: Thinking and Ideas The position of Mercury in your birth chart describes your intellectual qualities, how you communicate or express yourself verbally, and in general how your thinking patterns operate. Mercury in Scorpio: Your mind is thorough, deep, penetrating, and insightful into the inner workings or hidden side of things. You enjoy delving, doing research, thinking about difficult problems. You do not shy away from the dark or scary side of life. In fact, it fascinates you. You might wish to use the flower essence CALENDULA to offset your tendency to use sarcastic, cutting words. Mars: Ambition and Drive The position of Mars in your birth chart indicates your will power, physical vitality and sexual drives, and your capacity for decisive action and self-assertion, as well as the musculature and adrenals in the physical body. Mars in Libra: You tend to assert yourself rather indirectly. For instance, you may try to make others fulfill your will because it is "for us" or because "we" need to do thus-and-so rather than blatantly stating "I want this" or simply doing whatever it is you desire. You prefer to work in league with others who share your aims, in partnership, with co-workers, coalitions, and so forth. On your own, you often vacillate. When out of balance you will instigate disagreements simply to be in some type of relationship with the other person, rather than standing alone. Your physical energies and drives are rather even and moderate, neither super abundant nor deficient. (If you have the sun, moon, or ascendant in Aries, you do not mind standing on your own so much, and will be or try to be the dominant partner in relation to others). Working actively for fairness, justice, and equality is one way to direct your energy positively. Jupiter and Saturn: Opportunities and Challenges The position of Jupiter in your birth chart represents the principle of growth, improvement, expansion, faith, and the quest for ultimate meaning or broader understanding of life. Jupiter in Taurus: You experience a sense of connection to something greater (God, the Universe, the larger pattern of life), through living a simple life and attunement to nature. Perceiving the elegant wisdom of natural processes, you believe in letting things be, not pushing the river. You have a well developed capacity for sensual enjoyment and/or working with the earth.
You grow by having a positive attitude and philosophical approach to obstructions, difficulties, frustration, and the ups and downs in life. Vacillating between hope and doubt, confidence and fear, idealism and pragmatic realism can impede your progress (both spiritual and material). Become steady and patient, accept limitation, work with whatever is at hand in the moment, develop practical programs, skills, and strategies, learn to love what is difficult in your life. Read the "Tao te Ching" or "How to Handle Trouble" by John Carmody. Use regular ritual as a way to connect with spirit. At times, pessimism and an inability to envision a better future or to see the big picture may impede you. Fearing success or overexpansion as much as failure, you may be blocked from taking any successful course of action. The following essences can help: GENTIAN, for discouragement and despondency after a setback; for feeling cut off from a source of faith or hope; to ease persistent skepticism which leads to a sense of meaningless or depression. SAGE, to help perceive the higher purpose and meaning in life's events, and to offset the tendency to see life as ill-fated or undeserved. On a physical level, your liver may function sluggishly, and a program to boost and tone the liver would also help with all of the issues mentioned above. The position of Saturn in your birth chart represents the bones, the skeleton, and the principles of hardness, heaviness, structure, stability, form, and boundaries. It shows what is hard for you, what you struggle with, where patterns of rigidity or fear hinder you, what is heavy for you, where you develop character, maturity, and depth through being tested. Saturn in Taurus: Your struggles tend to resolve around basic security. When you feel threatened, fears of poverty, want, or material loss loom large, whether they have any realistic basis or not. You may hoard money or possessions, accumulating as much as possible to protect yourself from future lack. At the same time, the things you own, or your material requirements and responsibilities, may be a constant burden. Worry about not having "enough" may prevent you from taking risks or fully expressing yourself in some area of your life, or impel you to overwork. Your enjoyment of the physical or material side of life may thus be impaired. If you are working with these issues at present, the flower essence STAR THISTLE (which promotes a sense of inner abundance and trust in a higher providence) may be helpful. APPENDIX
I FLOWER ESSENCES: The following information will enable you to make up your own flower essence remedies. However if you wish to try them but are not interested in doing it all yourself, you can contact a flower essence practitioner. Many astrological counselors and other holistic practitioners use the flower essences and gem essences in their work. 1. Choosing your essences: Generally you can use up to five essences at a time. Some people believe five essences is ideal, as the number five is associated in myth and folklore with the healing process. Others find using a single remedy at a time most effective. Follow your own intuition and impulses on this, but please do not try to address too many issues at once. Gem essences can be used with flower essences. 2. Making the remedy: Once you have chosen the essence or essences you wish to take, purchase them from the supplier in the concentrated form ("stock" bottles). You will need a glass dropper bottle such as pharmacists use for eye drops, which are sold at some pharmacies as well as through the flower essences companies. The one ounce size is standard. It should be sterilized by boiling it for a few minutes, then letting it cool. Then, put four drops of each concentrated essence into the bottle, close it, and shake it vigorously for about a minute so that the essences are well blended. Fill the bottle about 3/4 full with distilled or spring water. (For a more potent remedy you may wish to use color-solarized water instead, as described in the color therapy section). Then, close the bottle and, again, shake vigorously for about a minute. To preserve the mixture, add a teaspoon or so of either brandy or apple cider vinegar. (They work equally well; it is a matter of personal taste and preference). 3. Using essences: The standard dosage is four drops four times a day, taken under the tongue. Taking more than four drops will not increase the remedy's effectiveness, and taking it more than four times a day is usually not necessary except in crisis situations. However, if you feel inclined to use it more frequently than four times a day, these remedies cannot be harmful in anyway. They are self-adjusting, meaning that you will simply not absorb more than you can use. To further activate the remedy's effect, you may wish to use a simple affirmation that corresponds with your intent and the nature of the remedy. For instance, if you are taking a remedy to increase your receptivity to love, you can say "I now let love and appreciation into my life", each time you take the remedy. Keep the words simple, positive, and framed in the present tense. Or, you may wish to put a self-adhesive label on your bottle, with a list of the essences it contains and a short phrase such as "receptivity to love" or "opening the heart" which you will see each time you take the remedy. Other very effective ways to use your remedy are to add 7 drops to a bath and/or several drops to an atomizer or spray bottle filled with water and spray it around the rooms of your house or workspace. 4. What to expect: Please understand the flower essences do not "take away" troublesome feelings or attitudes. Some people actually experience a temporary intensification of the issues the remedy is designed to address, what is referred to as a "healing crisis", as strong emotions or other reactions begin to surface. Naturally you can temporarily stop taking the remedy if you get too uncomfortable. You can also get some support while this process is occurring, since a willingness to experience and feel what is actually there is an intrinsic part of the healing. Most people, however, find the remedies quite gentle. Insights into the nature of the problem and how you are contributing to or maintaining it may emerge. Or, you may simply notice a gradual attitudinal, emotional, or energetic shift, and more harmony in that area of your life. Some very sensitive people feel the effects of the remedies on their chakras (particularly the heart and solar plexus) immediately upon taking them. If the pattern you are working with is longstanding, as the ones which are related to your birth chart are apt to be, you may need more than one bottle of given remedy. Or, after one bottle, you may want to give it a rest, and then go back to that remedy later. If you frequently "forget" to take the remedy or simply lose interest in it, this may be a signal that now is not the time for that particular one.
Color can be used to calm or energize, to cleanse, to stimulate a given energy center in the body, or to promote balance and an overall sense of well-being. In addition to paying attention to how color affects you and using that awareness in your choice of clothing and home or office decor, here are two methods to utilize color: 1. Color-solarized water: This is a very easy method. The supplies needed are a clear glass jar or bottle, colored cellophane (which can be purchased at an art supply store), drinking water, sunshine, and a clear quartz crystal (optional). Sterilize the jar or bottle, fill it with water, and if you wish add a clear quartz crystal (this magnifies the effects of the color). Then, close the bottle, wrap it in the colored cellophane, and secure the cellophane with a rubber band at the top. Place the bottle in a sunny spot for 2-6 hours, preferably outdoors. After removing the crystal, you can drink it freely and/or use it to make your flower remedies. 2. Color Breathing: This exercise can be used to clear your energy system of psychic debris, stimulate a sluggish or blocked chakra, and promote healing. Choose a place that is well-ventilated. You may stand or sit as you prefer, keeping your spine erect. Begin by taking 2 or 3 deep, gentle breaths, inhaling slowly through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Then as you breathe in, see and feel the color filling your entire body. As you continue to breathe, imagine the color surrounding your body as well, extending out about two feet all round you, to create a beautiful egg-shaped bubble of colored light. Simply breathe in this color for 5-10 minutes. To work on a particular chakra, you may start by breathing clear, white, or golden light (as described above). Then focus your attention on the center that needs clearing or balancing. For the base or root chakra, imagine a glowing sphere of bright, apple red at the very base of your spine. As you breathe, imagine the light becoming stronger and brighter. For the sacral center (located about 2 inches above the pubic bone) the color is orange. For the solar plexus (halfway between the navel and sternum), the color is bright yellow. For the heart, green or pink. For the throat, sky blue. For the brow center (located between the eyebrows and up about one inch), indigo blue. For the crown center (at the top of the head), purple, violet, or white. (You may use which ever one you feel most attracted to). If you cannot "see" the color with your mind's eye, just imagine that it is there. An inability to visualize a certain color often indicates a particular need for that very color. To derive healing benefits from visualization and color breathing, it is not necessary to spend a great deal of time. Five to ten minutes once or twice a day is quite adequate. And, once again you decide when you have "had enough" of a given color or exercise. A change in your feelings about a given color (less attraction to or "craving" for it, or less repulsion toward it, for instance) can be a clue.
Aromatherapy involves the use of essential oils from plants and flowers. It is much different from flower essence therapy in that it is primarily the "healing fragrance" which influences body and emotions through the scents. (Flower essences are odorless). Aromatherapy can be utilized either as a perfume (especially applied to the chakras), in bath water, in massage oil, or diffused in the air via steam or incense. Read labels carefully and take precautions using these potent oils.
