Table of Planetary Rulers
Each astrological sign and house is governed by at least one planet (or body). The planet is said to rule that sign or house.

The planets that rule the 12 zodiac signs vary according to point of view and choice of the astrologer.

Modern uses all 10 planets (8 planets plus the two luminaries: Sun and Moon).

Ancient consider only the classic 7 planets (5 planets plus the two luminaries) visible to the naked eye.

Esoteric Rulers are established by the Theosophical Society and include the planet Earth. The modern and classic rulership exclude Earth as a ruler since the point of view of general western astrology is the Earth or geocentric. Esoteric do not have as its point view the Earth but instead is the Sun or heliocentric.
